Open Road Questing

Terms of Service

Last updated November 3, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and SAD Software LLC ("SAD Software", "we", "us"). They cover the openroadquesting.com website, the Open Road addon, OpenRoad Companion, the Open Road upload features of MPR Companion, and any upload service we run (together, "Open Road"). By using Open Road you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Open Road.

1. Who can use Open Road

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country requires it. You must also be allowed to play World of Warcraft under Blizzard's terms.

2. What Open Road does

Open Road collects quest data that players choose to share, combines it, and publishes the results on this site and in addon updates. It's a free community project.

3. Your uploads

4. Data license

When you upload quest data, by any method (this site, OpenRoad Companion, MPR Companion, or another client), you give SAD Software a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to store, analyze, combine, modify, publish, and distribute that data. The license covers processing by automated tools and AI. It also covers including the data, in combined form, in the website, the addon, and data sets. You confirm the data is real and that you have the right to share it. Uploads are voluntary and unpaid. If you ask us to delete your data, we'll remove your individual records from future releases. Releases that have already shipped can't be recalled.

5. Rules

Don't do any of the following:

We may reject or remove any upload, and block any install or user, at any time.

6. Addon and app

The Open Road addon and OpenRoad Companion are free, and Open Road will never charge for its addon, app, or quest data. They use only Blizzard's public addon API and don't automate gameplay. We may change them or stop offering them at any time. You install and use them at your own risk.

7. No warranty

OPEN ROAD AND ALL ITS DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. The data comes from the community and may be incomplete or wrong.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, SAD SOFTWARE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. THIS INCLUDES LOST DATA, LOST GAME PROGRESS, AND ANY ACTION A GAME PUBLISHER TAKES AGAINST YOUR ACCOUNT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO US $50.

9. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold SAD Software harmless from claims that arise from your uploads or from your breaking these terms.

10. Trademarks

Open Road is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. World of Warcraft and Blizzard Entertainment are trademarks or registered trademarks of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. in the U.S. and/or other countries.

11. Takedowns

Send copyright notices or data removal requests to support@sadsoftware.com. A copyright notice should include your contact details, the work in question, where it appears on Open Road, a good-faith statement, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act. For data removal, include the install value from your OpenRoad.lua file.

12. Changes and ending access

We may change these terms. If you keep using Open Road after a change, you accept the new terms. We may suspend or end Open Road, or your access to it, at any time. Sections 4 and 7 through 13 still apply after your access ends.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Georgia. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
